Season 2, Episode 1: Filling Our Buckets
Our first episode of Season 2 explores how students learn about and live Pike’s motto: non sibi solum - not for oneself alone. First, we hear from two Upper School students about how they are impacting their communities through service. Then we're joined by Second Grade Teacher, Jessica Howie, who shares how our younger students learn the power of self-awareness, the responsibilities of community, and the ways they can make their world better.
Season 2, Episode 2: Teaching Beyond Pike
In Episode 2, we catch up with two Pike faculty who are sharing their time and expertise widely in the world of education. P.E. teacher Colleen Shannon discusses her work leading adventure educators to help students be resilient and caring. Jenny Kravitz, Director of Equity and Justice, digs into the ways her notions of community shape her work here at Pike and within the independent school community – and how it all relates to Pike's motto non sibi solum, not for oneself alone.
Season 2, Episode 3: Pike Alums Take the World by Storm
Settle in for a conversation with Pike alums about the great work they're doing in the world. We start with two secondary school alums, Eric and James, who are building a non-for-profit organization to help with COVID vaccination in Armenia. Then we connect with Margo Lindauer '95, who discusses how she's teaching her students at Northeastern University School of Law to bring relief to victims of domestic violence.
